Appointment with the 3rd edition of the Capri Art Film Festival from April 22nd to 25th, 2009.

A young festival which proposes a cultural debate on the issues of general interest through the instruments of Art.  Initiatives of Cinema, Theatre, Literature and Music which will animate the island of Capri: a moment dedicated to the dialogue among arts which in the previous editions  met with a remarbkable approval by criticism and the public. 

Sponsored by the Region Campania, the District of Naples, the Municipality of  Capri and Cinecittà Holding, the Festival has chosen diversity as its central theme, for this year. The show, in fact, proposes a moment of meditation on the negativeness of homologation and the necessity to open oneself to diversity by making the instruments of art useful for this purpose.  

As to cinema, the Capri Art Film Festival has created, 6 months before the inauguration of the initiative, the Capri Movie Lab: a free laboratory open to everyone to awaken the young to the world of cinema making them not only spectators, but authors and creative makers. The laboratory provides for the final making of next edition's  promotional spot and of a short film to be seen during the show. 

Always in the field of cinema, Corto in Capri, the competition of short films on the issue of diversity open to young film directors under 30. The short films which won't be among the 10 finalists of the competition will be screened for free.  

Music, for the 2009 edition, will have as its protagonist an interesting retrospective on the great musical artist Rino Gaetano. A homage to the life of the singer who has made diversity and sperimentation his personal and artistic characteristics. 

Literature will be a protagonist thanks to a literary competition, on diversity, too. 

Finally, Theatre will stage the Capri Musical and the Island and the Theatre, the latter being an initiative whose purpose is the promotion of theatrical activity on the island. 

The Festival will be housed in the Congress Palace of Capri: all  events are free and open to the public.
